Nick Akers became the president and new owner of STL Communications in May 2023 after a successful 20+ year career in C-Level and ownership roles at multiple high-tech companies. Mr. Akers possesses a passion for leading teams to overcome complex challenges and deliver solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Akers enjoys time spent with his young children, embracing the great outdoors and engaging in recreational activities. Additionally, he actively coaches both of their soccer teams, fostering their personal growth and teaching them the value of teamwork and dedication.

Ellen Gore has over 30 years of experience in the world of accounting and human resources. She spent her first 10 years with STL Communications as a senior accounts receivable specialist. For the past 14 years, Ellen has been head of accounting and oversees the rest of the financial staff.

Ellen has two children, Jeremy and Jennifer, as well as adorable grandbabies and granddogs. Ellen’s responsibilities include all of accounting and finance, in addition to onboarding new employees, managing our 401k and employee benefits.

Throughout his tenure at STL Communications, Patrick Shain has consistently displayed a deep understanding of voice and data services, making him an indispensable resource for the sales staff. He works closely with them to provide presales engineering support, leveraging his technical knowledge to assist in solution design and implementation strategies.

When he’s not hard at work, Patrick enjoys spending time with his son, who is currently attending college. He’s an avid reader and technophile, but he’s also excited to enjoy the beauty nature has to offer through camping, canoeing and exploring caves.
